Half the population of industrialized countries has a magnesium deficiency. Fourth most abundant mineral in the body, magnesium, essential for health and memory, could play an even more important for the healthy functioning of nerve cells in what was considered until now, a study suggests published in the journal Neuron.

Dr. Inna Slutsky’s work and his colleagues have shown that rodents with a diet containing a healthy intake of magnesium, the addition of magnesium-L-theronate (MGT), newly developed by the research team, improved memory among young and elderly subjects.

Those who received the supplement had improved cognitive functioning and they showed an increase of synapses in the brain (nerve endings that transmit information). The levels of magnesium in the cerebrospinal fluid was increased.

Magnesium supplements are currently marketed, however, are not effective because they do not cross the blood-brain barrier. The new addition will soon be tested in clinical trials.

In the meantime, researchers recommend to improve the intake of magnesium is found in many foods, including beans, dark chocolate, leafy vegetables, broccoli, almonds, cashew nuts and fruit. The benefits do not appear in a single day but are cumulative, “said Dr. Slutsky. With a persistent change of power, memory should improve and the effects of dementia and other diseases affecting cognitive functions could be significantly delayed, “said the researcher.

There will never be people who want to get something bad in her life. They certainly prefer to get something good, like a decent and steady job, a comfortable home, and others. However, as we all know that in this world we will definitely get a lot of trial or test of life, then we will definitely feel something bad, too. For example when we work, we suddenly get fired for doing something wrong or when a when you buy a new car, but only a few days, your car was hit by others until severe damage. While this is a tough exam, but as humans we still should not give up.

One of the exam which is usually toward the people who love to eat is that they always feel hungry and always want to eat. Usually people eating like this will be very different from the others, they can eat more than three times as habits of people, it is not included with other snacks. If you or your brother experienced anything like this, you should try to eliminate this bad habit. You can try dieting, and with the addition of diet supplements to help you eliminate the habit. But, you do not carelessly to consume a diet supplement, you should consult an expert first.

It’s nothing new that the power of the mother influences the development of the baby, so it is advisable to eat a healthy diet, but a new study by researchers at the University of Missouri-Columbia gives us new data about how the pregnant diet influences the health of the unborn baby.

The study examined the effect of a diet rich in fat, the other rich in carbohydrates and a balanced finding that each caused different gene expressions in the placenta of pregnant rats.

By extracting ribonucleic acid (RNA) of the placenta were identified about 2,000 different genes that were changed depending on the feed received by the mother, female fetuses being the most susceptible to the influence of maternal diet.

If the mother eats a poor diet, gene expression that occur in the placenta may cause effects on the baby’s health such as heart disease, diabetes and hypertension.

Also, remember that it is not the first time highlights the importance of maternal nutrition. Previous research had found that the diet of the mother determines the sex of the baby, that a greater amount of calories favors the birth of males. For that reason, it is known that obese women are more likely to father children.

If the effect in humans is the same as in the rat study, and indeed feeding the mother a strong influence on the diseases that the baby will more than genetic predisposition, the positive is that models may be produced healthy eating for pregnant women.

However, it is always recommended to the mother eating a balanced diet consisting of all types of food to offer your baby all the right nutrients for their development.
