Hepatitis C Prevention | Who is at risk?
People who are within the following groups should be tested for hepatitis C:
- People who use injecting drugs
- People who injected drugs in the past, even just one time years ago. Remember that the symptoms do not show up for 30 years!
- People infected with HIV
- People with liver blood tests (liver) or have abnormal liver disease
- People who have received a donation of blood or an organ before 1992
- People who have been exposed to contamination by blood at work, either with a puncture or have been cut with a sharp object
- People who are on dialysis
